Description

Device function

The device is used for the detection and spatial localization of objects and imperfections that are hidden in various environments (ground, road surfaces, building structures, etc.). Objects and imperfections are recognized whose dielectric permeability differs from the background dielectric permeability. With the software you get the 3D images of the examined room. It is possible to display the 3D images layer by layer as a series of images obtained for different sections of the examined volume along the selected direction, and 3D visualization of inhomogeneities is also possible. Based on the image received, the operator comes to the conclusion that there are destroyed objects and inhomogeneities in dense media.

How the device works

For scanning dense media, an array antenna with distributed receiving and transmitting radio frequency antennas (RF antennas) with the bandwidth that scans the medium from different angles is used. In order to detect and localize inhomogeneities, the mathematical focusing method and the aperture synthesis radar technology are used, whereby all the RF signals recorded by the array are summed in phase for each given focal point with correction of the delay present. Thus, the focusing is done by sequentially summing the received signals while equalizing the pulse time delays controlled by the point with given coordinates. The delays, which correspond to the total time of the signal from the transmitter to the object and back from the object to the receiver, are introduced into the received signal. Then the signal amplitudes corresponding to the calculated delays are added. The result obtained is the point of the radio picture with the corresponding coordinates. After the focusing operation is performed for each point of the selected volume of space, a three-dimensional radio image is created. The focusing operation is carried out in the frequency domain using fast processing algorithms that make it possible to realize three-dimensional tomograms of the examined space in real time.

Brief technical description of the device

The device is a module complex that consists of a unit for generating and receiving high-frequency pulses from linear frequency modulation and a module / array antenna. In addition to the module / array antenna block and linear frequency modulation, the equipment also includes a navigation unit and a control computer. The navigation unit can be implemented together with the RTK GNSS module on optical quadrature encoders. According to the information in the navigation block, further assignments of data to the track of the path covered are carried out. The array antenna has a modular structure. Each module consists of 4 receiving and 4 transmitting antennas for the range from 0.5 to 2 GHz; as well as 8 receiving and transmitting antennas for the range from 2 to 8 GHz. The antenna modules can be cascaded into a line, which extends the range when scanning dense media.
